SRH Dropped David Warner From Captaincy, Appoints Kane Williamson

To overturn their fate in the ongoing tournament, Sunrisers Hyderabad has chosen a new captain – Kane Williamson. The New Zealand skipper will be leading the team for tomorrow’s match against the Rajasthan Royals and for the rest of the IPL 2021. There’s no specific reason mentioned why David Warner was dropped, but this decision is hard to take, says the Hyderabad management team.

Kane Williamson is the SRH’s New Skipper

Fans of SRH are both happy and sad at the same time now. This is because the SRH management has dropped David Warner as their captain, and handed it to Kane Williamson. Fans love David Warner and respect Kane Williamson, and having these two in the team is a must alongside Rashid Khan.

But since they’re performing poorly in the ongoing tournament, they had to make changes. SRH has won only one match out of 6 played and remains at the bottom of the points table. Though half of the tournament is alive and still having a fair net run rate than others, SRH is failing to pick up till now.

They have lost simple chases and score big in critical situations like in super over against the DC, which determines Warner’s poor selection of team and leading. Yet, fans are still with David Warner since they were given pride. Under Warner’s captaincy, SRH has qualified to playoffs in all the seasons they played and earned the championship once.

Though they’re having star overseas players, a lack of experienced Indian players continues to plague the team. While Bhuvneshwar Kumar has left the tournament, Kedar Jadhav and Manish Pandey are performing fairly or sometimes under the line – making a tough time for SRH. Thus, today’s announcement may overturn their fate.
