In a major setback to Chennai Super Kings team, their star all-rounder – Suresh Raina returns to India. This was announced by their team’s CEO Kasi Viswanathan via a tweet from CSK’s Twitter handle just now. The comes after about 12 staff members including a player from the CSK team has tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.

5he tweet from official CSK account read, “Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season. Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time.” This was undersigned by CSK’s CEO, Kasi Viswanathan.

Suresh Raina has announced his retirement from the international cricket a couple of weeks back, just after the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni announced his own. While Dhoni’s was anticipate, fans haven’t expected Raina to follow Dhoni in this suite. Yet, while they’re digesting it hard, they’re at least happy that IPL 2020 is confirmed and they both would be the part of Chennai Super Kings team.

But, in another setback, Suresh Raina was announced to have returned to the home. While it was tagged as “personal reasons“, it was confirmed that he won’t playing the entire season of this year’s IPL. This comes to after news that about 12 staff members including an unnamed player from CSK team has tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, and extended their quarantine period upto September 1st.
