Valencia’s 22-year-old goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United, and Leicester City. Mamardashvili’s agents recently visited England to hold talks with these clubs, and Leicester appears to be the most keen on acquiring the Georgian international.

Despite a disastrous season for Valencia, with the club teetering on the brink of relegation, Mamardashvili has put in a number of solid performances since joining the club in 2021 on an initial loan deal, which was made permanent in the summer of 2022. This has not gone unnoticed by clubs, particularly in the Premier League.

Other clubs, such as Atletico Madrid, Monaco, and AC Milan, have also shown interest in the young goalkeeper. However, their interest depends on the fate of their current first-choice goalkeepers, with changes possible for all three clubs in the upcoming transfer window.

Mamardashvili is eager to leave Valencia this summer, and the club is reportedly willing to let him go. Valencia is said to be asking for £30 million for the goalkeeper, but the price could be higher for a rival La Liga club.

Manchester United, for example, is rumored to be in the market for a new goalkeeper, as David de Gea’s contract is set to expire this summer and doubts remain over his long-term future at the club. The Red Devils have been linked to Mamardashvili, who was initially signed from Lokomotivi Tbilisi in 2021 for Valencia’s reserve side in the Tercera División.

After impressing then-manager José Bordalás during the pre-season, Mamardashvili quickly rose through the ranks, keeping eight clean sheets in just 18 league appearances last season. His form has continued into the current season, attracting attention from top clubs like United, Chelsea, and Tottenham.

Italian club Juventus is also said to be interested in the shot-stopper, though reports suggest Mamardashvili may already have his sights set on a move to England. Chelsea, who are looking for a replacement for current goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, have reportedly met with Mamardashvili’s representatives.

With a contract until 2027 at Valencia, the club will likely seek a high bid for one of their best players. Mamardashvili’s rapid rise has been remarkable, and it appears only a matter of time before he is signed by a top club.
