Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders are all set to lock horns today, on the 5th day of IPL 2022. While RCB failed to make their mark in their inaugural match, KKR started their race with a win against CSK.
And now, both teams are eager to score a win to better their chances for later.
Throughout the IPL tournament since 2008, both the teams have faced 30 times each other, where KKR won 17 of them and lost the rest to RCB.
Today’s match will be held at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai, scheduled at 7.30 PM, streamed via Star Sports network and Disney Hotstar. With boundaries being in square format and the pitch favoring bouncers, here’s our take on who could be played in today’s match;
RCB vs KKR Probable Playing 11 for IPL 2022
- Royal Challengers Bangalore
Faf du Plessis (c), Anuj Rawat, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, David Willey, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep. - Kolkata Knight Riders
Venkatesh Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer (c), Nitish Rana, Sam Billings, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Sheldon Jackson (wk), Umesh Yadav, Shivam Mavi, Varun Chakravarthy.
RCB would be even better if Josh Hazelwood and Maxwell are available, and the same for KKR with Pat Cummins, who’s busy is serving the national duty against Pakistan.
RCB vs KKR Dream 11 Prediction for IPL 2022
Faf du Plessis (c), Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, and Umesh Yadav.
It’s unfortunate for RCB that Kohli and Faf are still being vulnerable to spinners. So, KKR’s duo mystery spinners – Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine may have a great game ahead. That said, setting Narine or Varun as the Vice-Captain is recommended. Although, trying Faf du Plessis or Ajinkya Rahane can be a bold choice too.
And since Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana have a good track record of facing RCB bowlers, setting either of them as Captain is recommended. A bold choice here would be setting Andre Russell as the captain, hoping that he’d get an early batting chance. He had a strike rate of over 210 against RCB.
