As Cricbuzz reported, the IPL 2021 was suspended for an indefinite time, as the COVID-19 cases are increasing. We have learned that KKR’s Varun Chakravarty and Sandeep Warrier tested positive after going out of the bubble for injury scans. As a result, the match between KKR and RCB was rescheduled yesterday.
After them, CSK’s bowling coach Lakshmipati Balaji was tested positive and put tomorrow’s CSK vs RR match at risk. While it’s touted to be postponed just as the KKR vs RCB, now news reporting more players testing positive puts the whole tournament at risk. As per reports, SRH’s Wriddiman Saha and DC’s Amit Mishra tested positive too, which can now hold today’s SRH match against Mumbai Indians.
While everyone is likely expecting the postponement of today’s and tomorrow’s match, Cricbuzz reported that the whole tournament was suspended indefinitely! A formal announcement of this from the BCCI is expected to come out soon, where it may mention the steps it takes to contain the adverse situation.
