After a couple of losses, Mumbai gets their third win in VIVO IPL 2021 today, against Rajasthan Royals. The defending champions have made it simple in all the formats of the game and deserved this win. Rajasthan Royals on the other hand didn’t get any chance to stop Mumbai, but to let go. Both the teams remain in their current respective positions after this game.
Mumbai Indians Made it Simple in All Formats
The defending champions have won the toss and opted to bowl but failed to remove either of the Rajasthan’s openers before power play. Openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave the good start RR need, adding 66 runs to the first wicket. Following them, skipper Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube continued the form until the end.
Expect Bumrah, every Mumbai bowler is punished by RR batsmen. With a target of 172, Mumbai did receive the start they wanted. Rohit Sharma is the first to walk out just at the end of power play and Suryakumar Yadav a couple of overs later. This didn’t affect Mumbai’s confidence, rather excelled. Krunal Pandya walked it after Suryakumar Yadav at 4, which is unexpected.
He, along with Quinton de Kock rushed the scoreboard to 140+ and caught by Mustafizur Rahman. While this dented the pace of the score a bit, few lucky shots at the end by Pollard helped Mumbai complete the innings with a win. Quinton de Kock for his 70(50 innings was awarded the Man of the Match. With this win, Mumbai overturns its negative net run rate to positive, whereas RR stays with a negative net run rate at the 7th spot of the points table.
