After all, Gujarat Titans isn’t all made up of luck, but some fine talent too. The middle-order of Gujarat Titans has once again proved to be working excellent, as they beat Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2022. Here’s how it went;
GT Beat RR By 7 Wickets
Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, GT struck early with Jaiswal’s wicket, who’s been showing a promising start since the last couple of matches. But the out-of-form batsmen Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler shone tonight, adding nearly 70 runs to the second wicket.
While Samsun missed a well-deserved half-century, Buttler went onto hit the boundaries and stood till the last over. With him scoring 89 runs and some contributions from Samsun and Padikkal, RR made 188 runs in their designated overs. Except for Rashid Khan and Hardik Pandya, rest all GT bowlers have been trashed.
And with a target of 189 runs, Trent Boult gave RR an early breakthrough by scalping Wriddhiman Saha. Although, this didn’t dent GT as Shubman Gill and Matthew Wade went on to add 72 run in the next 7 overs, before falling within 10 overs. Yet, the skipper Hardik Pandya and David Miller has completed the job, by adding nearly 120 runs to the fourth wicket.
Congratulations to the @gujarat_titans as they march into the Final in their maiden IPL season! ๐ ๐

All RR blowers have been fairly thumped, with Prasidh Krishna taking the most of hate since he conceded three consecutive sixes in the last over. At one point, RR seemed to defend the target with GT needing 16 runs in the last over, but it’s David Miller who has been excellent tonight. For his 68*(38), Miller was named as the player of the match.
With this win, GT advanced to the finals and awaits the winner of qualifier 2 on Sunday. Rajasthan Royals on the other hand will play against the winner of eliminator, which is scheduled on Wednesday, between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
