Under Dhoni’s reign, CSK is once again back on the track to the playoffs race! The yellow team has beaten DC with a huge margin of 91 runs, making this the biggest win against any team this season. DC had failed both in the batting and bowling too, but still in the same 5th spot on the points table.
With this win, CSK moved a spot up to 8th place in the points table. Also, they had turned their whole negative NRR to positive and wiped off the huge NRR of DC with one match.
CSK Beat DC By 91 Runs
Winning the toss and forced to bat first, CSK made a good start once again this season. Their openers have put a huge 110-run stand in 11 overs, where the hitting was continued by Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni, and Moeen Ali at the end. This led CSK to post a great target of 209 runs before Delhi Capitals.
In bowling, except for Khaleel Ahmed, the rest of the DC bowlers were thrashed left and right by CSK batsmen. Kuldeep Yadav, who’s been the master spinner of DC since all the past matches, was brutally beaten. And with a target of 209 runs, DC lost their opener, Srikhar Bharat, early. Also, the in-form batsmen David Warner and Mitchell Marsh were sent back for low scores too.

Following them, skipper Rishab Pant, Rovman Powell, and the entire middle and lower order were pulled out one by one. CSK’s Moeen Ali, Maheesh Theekshana, and Simarjeet Singh were the prime bowlers, who made DC fall apart. Yet, Devon Convoy, the CSK opener who made 87(49) secured the player of the match title.
