After a hat-trick of losses, RCB is once again on the winning path. The du Plessis and Co. has beat CSK by 13 runs to clinch their sixth win of IPL 2022, and move up in the table. Here’s how tonight’s match went;
RCB Beat CSK By 13 Runs
Winning the toss and forced to bat first, RCB took off on a slower start. Just when openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis tend to pick up, Moeen Ali sent the RCB skipper back to the dugout. But they had already added 60+ runs to the first wicket, making it a good opening stand.
Though Glenn Maxwell and Kohli struggled to add up more runs, the middle order has been once again exceptional. Youngsters Rajat Patidar and Mahipal Lomror added crucial runs in the short term, which was later carried out by Dinesh Karthik to end up at 173 runs in 20 overs. Except for spinners (Theekshana, Jadeja, and Moeen Ali), CSK pacers were equally thrashed.
And with a chase-able target of 174 runs, CSK made a good start too. Openers Devon Convoy and Ruturaj Gaikwad added 54 runs to the first wicket, and eventually caught RCB’s spinners. While Maxwell, Hasaranga, and Shahbaz Ahmed handled the CSK middle order, Harshal Patel and Hazelwood took care of the lower order and restricted CSK to 160 runs in designated overs.
#RCB win by 13 runs and are now ranked 4 in the #TATAIPL Points Table.

Expect for Devon Convoy, none has performed well. Though Josh Hazelwood and Maxwell were proven to be the finest, Harshal Patel was named the player of the match.
With this win, RCB moved to the 5th position, while CSK remained where it was, at the 9th spot. With this loss, the playoff chances for CSK have almost evaporated! Yet, there’s still scope, and the RCB too needs to brighten its net run rate.
