Manchester City confirmed on Tuesday that they have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign forward Erling Haaland.

The trade is conditional on the Premier League leaders agreeing to terms with the Norway international, according to the club.

After City activated a 60 million euro (£51.2 million) release clause in his contract, Haaland, 21, will join in July.

Pep Guardiola effectively announced Erling Haaland’s likely arrival at Manchester City this afternoon, with the Borussia Dortmund striker on the verge of sealing a move to the club.
In a £30 million deal, Dortmund will replace Haaland with Red Bull Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi.

This season, the 20-year-old has scored 23 goals and added eight assists in 42 games.

Pep Guardiola’s quest of a striker will be completed with Haaland’s arrival, following his failure to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane last summer.

City, who scored 89 goals in the Premier League this season, has frequently played without a recognized striker.

Riyad Mahrez leads the team in goals with 24, followed by Raheem Sterling (16), Kevin De Bruyne (15), and Phil Foden (14). (14).
