Indian star badminton player PV Sindhu defeated Akane Yamaguchi of Japan 21-13, 22-20 to seal her place in the semi-finals. Sindhu picked up the momentum after a sluggish start. Akane Yamaguchi of Japan gave a strong fight in the first game. There was a great fight between the two players.

PV Sindhu won the first game 21-13. This game lasted for 23 minutes. In the second game, there was a fierce fight between Sindhu and Yamaguchi. Long rallies took place between the two.
