With the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders heading into tailspins, someone needed to start a fight and jump start there team. Aqib Talib and Michael Crabtree got into it early in the first-quarter and they were both ejected for throwing punches. It is very possible they will get suspended. Talib ripped off Crabtree’s golden chain and it is what sparked the fight.
The Raiders also held off a furious rally by the Broncos to win 21-14. Denver has lost seven games in a row now. Paxton Lynch started the game for the Broncos at quarterback, but he left with an ankle injury. Lynch completed 9-of-14 passes for 41 yards and an interception. That interception came in the second quarter and it was thrown in the end zone.
After the interception, it eventually led to a 9-yard touchdown reception by Amari Cooper. That was his only reception of the game and he left the game early because of a concussion and he did not return. Oakland scored another touchdown in the second by Marshawn Lynch on a 1-yard run. Lynch finished with 67 yards rushing on 26 carries and a score. Lynch also caught three passes for 44 yards receiving.
Jalen Richard caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from Derek Carr in the third. Richard caught two passes for 13 yards receiving and a touchdown. He also rushed for 17 yards on two carries. Carr completed 18-of-24 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns.
Denver scored both touchdowns in the fourth-quarter by Cody Latimer (25-yard pass from Trevor Siemian) and Bennie Fowler (22-yard pass from Trevor Siemian). Lattimer finished with three receptions for 48 yards receiving and a touchdown. Fowler had three receptions for 33 yards receiving and a touchdown. Siemian completed 11-of-21 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns.
As the Broncos had all the momentum, the Raiders gained it back on a third-and-8 completion to Cordarrelle Patterson from Derek Carr for 54 yards and it sealed the deal. Patterson finished with three receptions for 72 yards receiving. The Denver Broncos will be on the road against the Miami Dolphins (4-7) next Sunday and the Oakland Raiders will host the New York Giants (2-9) next Sunday.
