Tonight’s match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings is something that PBKS doesn’t want to remember for the rest of their IPL. They have lost so badly against Delhi Capitals, which pushed them to 8th place in the points table with a huge -671 net run rate!
Similarly, these wins shooted DC to 6th place and is having a +942 net run rate, the highest among others. Mitchell Marsh’s loss didn’t seem to affect DC in any way, as they performed really well in both batting and bowling tonight. Here’s how it went;
DC Won With 9 Wickets and 57 Balls Against PBKS
Delhi’s meager performance in middle-order batting and failure to defend in death overs might be over, as the team tonight played a really good game against Punjab Kings.
Winning the toss and opting to field first, DC bowlers maintained a steady flow in picking wickets and rounded up everything for 115-10 in 20 overs. Except for Jitesh Sharma, none have crossed a 30-run mark. The fall of hard hitters like Liam Livingstone, Mayank Agarwal, and Johnny Bairstow so early is what favored DC.
In terms of bowling, all DC bowlers have been exceptional, with Axar Patel being so economical with 4-0-10-2 figures. But somehow, Kuldeep Yadav (4-0-24-2) was awarded the player of the match award. With bowlers doing most of the job, DC batters are just left chasing a simple target.

But that didn’t stop them from being aggressive, as DC openers Prithvi Shaw and David Warner have completed most of the chase, and helped DC get its 3rd win of IPL 2022 in a grand style. Both the openers managed to squeeze 15 runs per over in the powerplay and closed the innings in just 10.3 overs.
