Connor McDavid is going to have help for the next near decade or so. The Edmonton Oilers and Leon Draisaitl agreed to an eight-year contract extension worth $68 million. Draisaitl is one of the reasons why the Oilers improved last season and almost made it to the western conference finals.
He is only 21 years old and Draisaitl was the third overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft. He scored 29 goals and had 48 assists last season, with a plus/minus of 7. In the playoffs last season, he scored six goals and had 10 assists with a plus/minus of 8. The Edmonton Oilers are going to be serious Stanley Cup contendors for a very long time.
