Falcons End Skid against Jets

The Atlanta Falcons and the New York Jets have hit rough patches in their seasons for the past couple of weeks. Only one of them could end in a wet and rainy afternoon at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey. The Falcons survived in a 25-20 victory over the Jets.

Eric Tomlinson caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from the Jets in the first quarter. Later in the first, Austin Hooper caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Austin Hooper. Hooper finished with four receptions for 47 yards receiving and a score. With the game tied at 10 in the second-quarter, Josh McCown threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Robby Anderson. Anderson finished with six receptions for 104 yards receiving and a touchdown. McCown completed 26-of-33 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns.

With the Falcons trailing 17-16 in the fourth-quarter, Mohamed Sanu caught a 8-yard touchdown pass from Matt Ryan. Sanu finished with six receptions for 74 yards receiving and a touchdown. Ryan completed 18-of-29 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns. Ryan also lost two fumbles in the game because of the ball being wet.

Tevin Coleman also rushed for 82 yards on 14 carries. Matt Bryant made four field goals for the Falcons (23, 45, 37, and 29 yards). Chandler Catanzaro made two field goals for the Jets (43 and 46 yards). Catanzaro also missed two kicks for the Jets. The Atlanta Falcons will be at the Carolina Panthers (5-3) next Sunday and the Jets will host the Buffalo Bills (5-2) on Thursday Night.
