After three back-to-back losses, Sunrisers Hyderabad registered their first win in the VIVO IPL 2021 against Punjab Kings. SRH Gets Their First Victory in IPL 2021
Sunrisers Hyderabad has been a victorious team since its inception but failed to register their first win the this year’s tournament even after playing three matches. But today, in their fourth match, SRH has claimed their first points by beating Punjab Kings with 9 wickets in hand.
This happened with Punjab winning the toss and electing to bat first and struggled since the start. PBKS lost its bright skipper KL Rahul soon and Mayank Agarwal after the powerplay. Soon, West Indies hitter Nicholas Pooran too walked behind him for a diamond duck due to runout.
While everyone hoped Chris Gayle would do some magic, he failed too for a low score. SRH spinners Rashid Khan and Abhishek Sharma troubled PBKS regularly, and Khaleel Ahmed striking at the end to restrict Punjab for a low score of 120. The continues fall of wickets gave Shahrukh Khan no support, as he struggled to build a partnership and tried putting a big score on board.
With a mere 121 target, SRH decided not to take any risks and instead chase the target slowly and safely. Openers Jonny Bairstow and skipper David Warner built a steady partnership and in one way looked to surpass the target together. But Warner playing a risky shot made himself caught out, and walk out. But, Kane Williamson and Bairstow continued the slow progress and took SRH off the mark.
