The boundaries of Brabourne aren’t that short, but Jos Buttler made sure they’re with his astonishing batting tonight. Losing the toss and forced to bat first, RR made a grand start of a 97-run partnership to the first wicket. As Padikkal walks out in the 10th over, skipper Sanju Samson continued the hunt along with Jos Buttler, taking the team to 160+ in just 15 overs.

And with some thrashing shots from Shimron Hetmyer and Buttler at the end took RR to a total of 217 in 20 overs. This includes Buttler’s second century of this season, with the first one being against Mumbai Indians. This puts him in the elite IPL panel of batters with over four centuries, that currently comprises Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, Shane Watson, David Warner, etc.
With a huge target of 218, KKR lost its power hitter Sunil Narine for a diamond duck in the first ball of innings. But Aaron Finch and skipper Shreyas Iyer made a brilliant partnership of 107 in just 47 balls and kept KKR’s hopes for winning alive. As they’re well maintaining the required run rate accordingly, Yuzvendra Chahal turned up with his magic spells and sent important batsmen including the near-centurion Iyer back to the dugout.

His fiery spell of last over consists of a hat-trick too, that too Venkatesh Iyer, Shivam Mavi, and Pat Cummins. Even though Umesh Yadav excelled with few maximums at the end, he eventually surrendered, closing the innings at 210 all out.
This victory of a 7-run margin pushed RR to second position in the points table, while KKR remains at the 6th position.
