With thumping batting from Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed, RCB won their second match in a row and had Rajasthan Royals taste their first loss in IPL 2022. Yet, both the teams are still in their previous positions on the points table, with RR at No.1 and RCB at No.6.
RCB Beat RR by 4 Wickets at Wankhede
Winning the toss and opting to field, RCB made a good start with the ball. David Willy and Mohammed Siraj bowled a good spell to restrict RR from scoring big in the powerplay, and even sending Yashasvi Jaiswal to the dugout early.
And the middle overs are greatly taken care of by Wanindu Hasaranga and Harshal Patel, who restricted the dangerous Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson and had the scoreboard move slowly. But in the end, RCB bowlers showed their original colors and leaked significant runs to the settled batsmen – Buttler and Hetmyer.
In just the last couple of overs, Hetmyer and Jos Buttler squeezed about 42 runs from Siraj and Akash Deep, keeping their 80+ runs partnership unbeatable. Some big shots by RR batsmen and mistakes from RCB bowlers took the total to 169, which would have otherwise been restricted to below 150.
What a sensational win! 👌 👌

Starting the chase, RCB openers have given a good start and put up 50 runs by the end of the powerplay. As they’re going fine, Samson brought in Yuzvendra Chahal to destroy the RCB’s batting order at once! Chahal sent RCB’s skipper du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and David Willy in his magical spells, and left an unimaginable void in their lineup.
But, Shahbaz Ahmed and Dinesh Karthik have been wonderful in the middle order, smashing RR bowlers from 14th over till the end. Together, Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed have added over 67 runs in less than 5 overs and handed over a second win for RCB this season.
