The Gujarat Titans (GT) are all set to lock horns with the Delhi Capitals (DC) tonight in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The defending champions, GT, led by Hardik Pandya, started their campaign with an impressive victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK), while the Delhi Capitals, captained by David Warner, suffered a loss against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
GT’s winning momentum was slightly marred by the unfortunate knee injury sustained by Kane Williamson in their opening match against CSK, ruling him out for the rest of the season. However, their lineup receives a major boost with the return of South African big-hitter David Miller, who has completed his national duties and is expected to replace Williamson in the playing XI.
Shubman Gill, who scored a blistering 63 against CSK, remains in top form and will likely open the batting with Wriddhiman Saha. The middle order is expected to be strengthened by the inclusion of Matthew Wade, while the team boasts a strong all-rounders’ section featuring Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Rahul Tewatia.
The bowling department will be led by Mohammed Shami, supported by Alzarri Joseph and Yash Dayal. The spin attack will be spearheaded by the ever-reliable Rashid Khan.
On the other hand, the Delhi Capitals will be looking to bounce back from their opening match defeat. The team’s batting lineup features heavyweights like David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, and Mitchell Marsh, while the bowling department is expected to be bolstered by the return of South African pace duo Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi.
With both teams aiming for victory in their second IPL 2023 clash, fans can expect an exciting contest at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi tonight.
