There has been a flow of runs tonight at Guwahati, with a handful of batsmen knocking their half-centuries and one a century. Together, they have added 450+ runs in 40 overs, where South Africa lost to India in a grand chase, making it their first-ever T20I series loss against India, in India. Here’s how it went;
India Beat South Africa by 16 Runs
Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, South Africa didn’t get the start it wanted. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul made a grand start of a 96-run partnership to the first wicket before departing for Keshav Maharaj’s spell. Well, that didn’t stop the flow of runs but instead increased it.

Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav struck once again with their finest shots, adding 102 runs in just 7 overs! And this has been the best middle over rate for India ever! With KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav made succeeded in making their half-centuries, Virat Kohli missed a deserving one, standing not out at 49.

A couple of sixes from Dinesh Karthik at the end helped India to post a grand total of 237 runs in their designated overs. Except for Keshav Maharaj, all the South African bowlers have been brutally thrashed.
And with a huge target on board, South Africa opened their chase with the wickets of skipper Temba Bavuma and Rilee Rossouw in the same over – to Arshdeep Singh. But this didn’t heckle the other opener Quinton de Kock, who added 46 runs to the 3rd wicket with Aiden Markram – who scored the most in this.

But that’s not the actual highlight yet. It’s the show of David Miller, who has been the real smasher tonight. He, along with Quinton de Kock, added 174 runs in 13.4 overs! This is now the biggest partnership against India by any other team.
Though de Kock scored his half-century (69*) and Miller stood at an unbeaten 106 runs, they had fallen short of 16 runs. And this catered to their first-ever T20I series loss against India, in India.
