Delhi Capitals (DC) Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly has expressed his faith in the team’s ability to bounce back from their losing streak in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The former Indian captain remains optimistic that the Capitals can win all nine of their remaining matches, despite having suffered five straight losses.
In a video shared by Delhi Capitals, Ganguly called for unity within the team, emphasizing the importance of supporting each other and their captain, David Warner. Ganguly urged the team to forget their recent defeats and focus on playing for their pride, regardless of whether they qualify for the next stage of the tournament or not.
Ganguly stated, “We are a much better side than what is happening on the field at the moment. It just takes one game to turn around, and we’ll do that. Let’s stick to David (Warner), he’s the captain, and he’s the most important man in the team.”
Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting also shared his confidence in the team’s ability to recover from their current situation. In a motivational speech to the players, Ponting specifically addressed spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who had apologized for his performance in a previous match against the Mumbai Indians. Ponting encouraged Yadav to never apologize for his performance on the field and praised his recent improvement, saying, “today with 2/23 off four, it was an outstanding spell of bowling.”
Currently at the bottom of the IPL 2023 points table, the Delhi Capitals are looking to turn their fortunes around when they face the Kolkata Knight Riders at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday.
